Dr Rebecca Dean

Rebecca is New Testament Lecturer and Tutor for Admissions at Ripon College Cuddesdon, an Anglican Theological College in Oxfordshire. Prior to beginning work at Cuddesdon in 2013, she was involved in children’s ministry for the URC, and also spent some time working as a teacher and support worker for a children’s homelessness charity in Far East Russia. A lifelong animal lover, Rebecca is especially interested in rediscovering (and learning from) animals within our biblical texts. Her current research explores the portrayal of horses in artistic representations of Saint Paul’s Damascus road experience, and considers what these might tell us about beliefs in animal perceptions of the divine. Rebecca shares her home with two house rabbits, and spends most of her spare time with her rescue horse.
